A commission by block9 (https://www.block9.com/)
In collaboration with Sarah Kraus & Eriko Takeno.
This is a site-specific installation, designed for block9’s Downlow Rave. The rave took place in The Silver Building, a 50.000 sq. ft brutalist warehouse in London. The brief was to create a set design based on a surreal narrative.
We used mirrors in various sizes and positioned them to play with the existing geometry of the room. Reflecting moving images on the walls through mirrors and water while integrating the technical equipment within the installation was a challenge, yet it resulted pretty seamlessly. People were allowed to really enter into the piece, engaging with it fully, and becoming a participant. I also designed a sound piece to enhance the surreal experience.
